Late Goal Lifts Dexter Lacrosse Past Farmington
A nip and tuck battle went dow to the final couple of minutes when the Dexter lacrosse team defeated Farmington 7-6 Tuesday night.
The game was back and forth throughout, but a Luke Cobbett goal with 2:11 left put the Dreads up on top and they hung on for the win. It was the only point of the night for Cobbett and it came at a much needed time.
Jeremiah Jones was strong at the face-off X winning 70% of them on the night to keep the Dreads in control of the ball. Jones also scored a goal and assist on the night
AJ Gordon led the Dexter offense with three goals for the hat trick.
Zach Norris and Brady Sortor anchord the Dreads defense. Norris picked up 13 ground balls and forced five turnovers Sortor had eight ground balls and six forced turnovers in what coach James Nichols called the best defensive game of Sortor's career.
"It was a very physical game, high energy & im proud that our boys responded to adversity and overcome what was thrown at us," Nichols said.
