The Chelsea baseball team hoped to remain in the hunt for the top spot in the SEC White after taking two of three games from Ypsilanti Lincoln last week.

The teams opened the week by splitting a pair of games at Lincoln.

Chelsea rallied for a pair of runs in the seventh to take the opener 2-1.

Lincoln took a 1-0 lead in the second and the Bulldogs struggled at the plate all night but came up big when needed.

A leadoff walk and a sacrifice bunt put Lucas Kilgore on second with one out. Kilgore was tagged out at third on a ground ball leaving the Bulldogs with a runner one first and two out. A walk put two runners on and Trent Hill followed with a huge two-run triple to put the Bulldogs on top 2-1.

Lincoln would put two runners on with singles in the bottom of the seventh, but Lucas Dunn got the batter to bounce to Joe Taylor at first for the out and he gunned home where the tying run was tagged out for the final out of the game.

Hill and Chase Kemp had the only two hits for the Bulldogs.

Hunter Shaw earned the win with eight strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Lucas Dunn earned the save by getting the game ending double play.

The second game was a crushing blow for the Bulldogs as Lincoln scored six times after two were out in the sixth for a walk-off 8-7 win in a game that was called due to darkness.

The Bulldogs took a 7-2 lead in the fifth on a two-run single by Hill and a pair of Lincoln errors.

The seventh inning started with a strikeout and groundout and it looked like the Bulldogs would close the door on the Splitters, but the wheels fell of the wagon from there.

A single and two doubles plated a pair of runs to make it 7-4. An error and a hit batter loaded the bases and a single brought two home to cut the lead to 7-6. Another walk reloaded the bases and a single brought home two runs for the amazing walk-off win for Lincoln.

Hill led the offense with two hits and two RBI. Kemp had a hit and RBI, Taylor a hit and two runs scored, Will Wilhelm a hit and run scored, and Hunter Sciackitano one hit.

The Bulldogs put nine runs on the board in the first two innings of game three and cruised to a 10-0 win.

Sciackitano and Wilhelm each had two hits and two RBI to pace the Bulldogs.

Taylor ripped two doubles and one RBI. Kilgore and Hill each had two hits and a run scored, while Dunn and Jacob Schultz each had a hit and RBI. Gabe Anstead earned the win, striking out one and allowing three hits in five innings of work.
