Chelsea Baseball Splits Pair at Northville Armed Forces Day Quad

The Chelsea baseball team dropped a 5-4 decision to Northville Saturday as the Mustangs scored three times in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.

Joe Taylor put Chelsea on top with a leadoff homerun in the fourth and the Bulldogs would make it 2-0 with a squeeze bunt by Lucas Kilgore.

Northville battled back with a pair of runs n the fifth to tie it at two, but Taylor ripped a two-run triple in the top of the seventh to give the Bulldogs a 4-2 lead.

Northville would load the bases with one out in the seventh and would end up scoring  three times to pull out the walk-off win.

Taylor finished with a homerun and triple and three RBI to lead the offense. Chase Kemp finished with a double and single, Hunter Sciackitano, Hunter Ferry, and Jacob Schultz one hit each.

The Bulldogs then routed Novi 16-1 to finish the day with a split.

Chelsea led 7-1 after three and a big eight run fourth inning blew the game wide open.

Kemp had a big game with three hits and four RBI to lead the Bulldogs offense. Taylor and Trent Hill both had two hits and an RBI, Dylan Dollinger a hit and three RBI, Dunn and Dawson a hit and two RBI each. Sciackitano added a hit and RBI and Ferry a hit. Dollinger earned the win on the mound striking out two and allowing five hits.
