Michigan ballot proposals: let the people vote!

It’s two months to the election and Michigan Republicans are showing just how afraid they are of the people. This Wednesday’s action by Republicans on the State Board of Canvassers to keep the reproductive freedom and voting rights proposals off the November ballot shows just how far they’ll go.

Thousands of Michiganders worked for months to gather signatures all over the state. And they did, in huge numbers. Record numbers. In fact, they turned in hundreds of thousands more than needed.

This shows just how much Michiganders care about the freedom to decide when to start a family; the freedom to choose our leaders in safe and secure elections; and the freedom to vote & have our votes count.

But Michigan Republicans want to take those freedoms away. They’re afraid if we all vote, they’ll lose. Too bad. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Let the people vote!
