Dexter Daze Committee Announces New Location for the Popular Summer Event

After withdrawing its permit request from the City of Dexter for the popular annual event, Dexter Daze, the Dexter Daze Committee has been keeping everyone on the edge of their seat as to where outside the city limits the event would be held.

As an answer, the Dexter Daze Committee made the following announcement Saturday morning, April 3, 2021:

"The Dexter Daze Committee is thrilled/pleased/excited/ecstatic/tickled pink (you get our drift!) to make this announcement: the 50th Dexter Daze will be held August 13-14, 2021 at the American Legion just outside the city limits. While we are extremely disappointed to be moving away from our traditional event downtown, we are just happy to know that we will be holding an event. This year’s festival will still include all your favorite features: a kid’s area, food trucks, entertainment, artists/vendors and, of course, the DAFD social tent. 

"We chose this location due to its close proximity to town, allowing people to park in town and walk to the Legion. This also means that everyone will be able to continue to support our downtown businesses. It’s all about Community.

"Now the real work begins. Unfortunately there are some additional costs involved in holding an event away from downtown so we need the help of our community.  If you are able to donate to this 50th Anniversary Dexter Daze, we would be extremely grateful. We are currently updating our website and will soon have a link for donations there, too.

"The Dexter Daze Festival is designed to unite our little community and has for the past 50 years. We are really excited about the opportunities that holding the event at the Legion allow and know that all of you will be as excited to attend as we are. We cannot thank the members of the American Legion enough for allowing us to hold our event on their property. We are eternally grateful.
