Dexter Golf Off to Strong Start

The Dexter boys’ golf team had a strong start to the 2021 season this week as the Dreadnaughts took third at the U of D Jesuit Invitational.

The Dreadnaughts finished third out of 12 teams at Detroit Golf Club Monday with a team score of 322 in the 18-hole event. Jesuit won the Invite with a score of 315 and AA Gabriel Richard was second with 318.

Jack Kolka was individual runner-up at the event with a three over par round of 75 to lead the Dreadnaughts.

Dominic Sortor finished tied for 13th with a round of 80, while Joey Fracassi was 19th with an 82. Niko Michos shot 85 to finish 27th and Lucas Koone was 56th with a round of 95.

The Dreadnaughts then swept a home SEC tri-meet at the Polo Grounds in Ann Arbor Wednesday.

Dexter fired a team score of 168 to beat out Bedford with 184 and Jackson 198.

Kolka led the Dreadnaughts with a nine-hole score of 39 followed by Michos with a 42.

Sortor fired a 43, Fracassi 44, Gage Pulford 46, and Koone 49.

The Dreadnaughts return to action Monday when they take part in the North Star Bank Invite in Southfield.
