Dexter Track Teams Place Well at LCC
The Dexter boys' and girls' track teams had strong showings at the Lansing Catholic Central Relays Saturday with the boys finishing second and the girls fourth.
The boys finished behind rival Chelsea for the top spot in the event.
Conor Kolka was in on two first place finishes to lead the Dreadnaughts. Kolka won the 3200 and was part of the winning DMR team along with Nathan Gariepy, Wilson Kasischke, and Josh Lamb.
Cole Sheldon also won the pole vault for Dexter.
Kasischke finished second in the 110 hurdles, while Noah Schultz was second in the pole vault. The MMR relay team of Lamb, Brandon Anderson, Josh Harm, and Gariepy also placed second.
Samuel Fitzpatrick in the high jump and the 4x400 relay team of Nathan Biggs, Anderson, Gariepy, and Kasischke earned third place finishes.
Clark Sheldon was fourth n the pole vault and James Livingston fifth in the shot put for the Dreads.
Sixth place finishes went to the 4x100 throwers relay team of Danny Gilbert, Livingston, Cole Scheller, and Colin Vanover; the DMR relay of Owen Ackerman, Biggs, Anderson, and Zachary Sawain, Cole Sheldon in the long jump, and Lamb in the 3200.
The girls saw Josianne Mettes claim the top spot in the pole vault, while the MMR relay team of Kate Varitek, Gwen Tatara, Jessica Hoehn, and Ashley Mitchell also finished first.
Abigail Van Noord was second in the high jump, while third place finishes went to the DMR team of Megan O'Day, Faith Jones, Mitchell, and Amanda McGill; Kate Krueger in the discus, and Makenzie Stock the pole vault.
Fourth place finishes went to the 4x400 team of Mitchell, Jones, Hoehn, and Tatara; and the MMR team of O'Day, Evelyn Clemens, Anne Kleber, and Jones.
Amanda McGill was sixth in the 3200 and Meghan McGill sixth in the 300 hurdles.
