Dexter Track and Field Hosts Welcome Back to the Track Meet

The Dexter track teams hosted the first Welcome Back to the Track Meet Saturday and the Dreadnaughts had a strong showing at the home meet at Al Ritt Stadium.

The event was a non-scoring event with eight Division 1 teams competing.

The boys’ team had four first place finishers on the day.

Cole Cabana won the 100, Wilson Kasischke the 300hurdles, Micah Davis high jump, and Cole Sheldon pole vault.

Second place finishes went to Noah Schultz in the pole vault, James Livingston shot put, Nathan Gariepy 800, Davis the 400, the 4x100 relay team of Nathan Biggs, Cabana, Tyler Valle, and Josiah Hayter; and the 4x400 relay team of Kasischke, Brandon Anderson, Davis, and Gariepy.

Kasischke was third in the 110 hurdles, Conor Kolka third in the 1600, and Clark Sheldon third in the pole vault.

Kolka was fourth in the 3200 and was part of the 4x800 team along with Owen Ackerman, Josh Lamb, and Gariepy that finished fourth.

The girls came away with three first place finishes.

Sophia Mettes won the pole vault, Abigail Van Noord high jump, and Jamie Giese shot put for the Dreadnaughts.

Josianne Mettes in the pole vault, Gwen Tatara 400, and Abby Marek discus earned second place finishes.

Fourth place finishes went to Makenzie Stock in the pole vault, Tatara 200, Faith Jones 400, Meghan McGill 300 hurdles, and the 4x800 relay team of Faith Jones, Amanda McGill, Kate Varitek, and Ashley Mitchell.
