Dexter Track Teams Fall to Pinckney


The Dexter girls and boys track and field team had a tough go at a home SEC White tri-meet with Pinckney and Adrian Tuesday as the girls split their meets, while the boys dropped both.

The Lady Dreads defeated Adrian 106-29 and fell to Pinckney 80-57.

The girls picked up four wins in the meet with Abby Marek winning the discus, Abigail Van Noord the high jump, Josianne Mettes the pole vault, and the 4x400 relay team of Ashley Mitchell, Faith Jones, Gwen Tatara, and Gracie Burns took the top spot.

Burns was second in the 200 and Mitchell second in the 800. Other second place finishes went to Hannah McComas 1600, Meghan McGill 300 hurdles, Jamie Gies shot put, Katie Krueger discus, Haley Craig high jump, and Sophia Mettes pole vault. The 4x100, 4x200, 4x88 relay teams also took second.

The boys dropped both of their meets, losing to Adrian 79-54 and Pinckney 86-46.

Dexter picked up six first place finishes, but did not get many high places after that.

Picking up first place finishes were Cole Cabana in the 100, James Livingston in the shot put, Micah Davis high jump, Noah Schultz pole vault, Cole Sheldon long jump, and the 4x100 relay team of Cabana, Nathan Biggs, Tyler Valle, and Josiah Hayter.

Cabana also earned a second place finish in the 200. Andrew Zogaib second in the shot put, and COle Sheldon second on the pole vault.
