Dreadnaughts Complete Three Game Sweep of Chelsea
One big inning is all the Dexter baseball team needed with Brennan Parachek on the mound Wednesday as the Dreadnaughts finished a three game sweep of rival Chelsea with a 4-0 win.
Parachek was stellar on the mound for the Dreadnaughts allowing just two hits and striking out nine. He also walked two batters and one HBP. The Bulldogs only had two runners on base in one inning once.
For the third straight time against the Bulldogs, the Dreadnaughts got off to a fast start in the first inning.
Dexter took advantage of three Chelsea walks and an error in the first to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Braeden Fuson led off with a single and would score on a sacrifice fly by Evan Krolewski. Cam Rosen followed with an RBI single. A pair of walks and an error helped push two more runs across for the 4-0 lead.
That is all Parachek would need.
The Bulldogs only threat of the game came in the third when a hit batter and a Jacob Schultz single put two runners on with one out. A fielders choice and a strikeout ended the threat.
Rosen finished with a hit and RBI, Joey Tessmer and Fuson a hit and run scored.
Schultz and Joe Taylor had the only hits for the Bulldogs.
Dexter now sits atop the SEC White standings with an 8-1 record. Tecumseh is right behind at 10-2 and Chelsea at 6-3.
