Dexter Softball Makes Short Work of Huron

When your pitching is unhittable, it does nott take much offense to win a game. The Dexter softball team had no issue with either as the Dreadnaughts put 43 runs on the board and Paige Sayler and Brenna Cassidy tossed no-hitters to led to a doubleheader sweep of Ann Arbor Huron Wednesday.

Sayler struck out seven and walked just two in the no-hitter in the 19-0 win in the opener for the Dreadnaughts.

Camryn Chase smacked a three-run homer and Hannah Marsik crushed a two-run shot to lead the Dexter offense. Chase finished with two hits and three RBI, while Marsik had two hits and two RBI to help the Dexter hitting attack that pounded out 21 hits.

Kylee Niswonger had a huge night going 4-4 with two RBI. Sam Sutton had three hits and drove in five runs, while Cassidy had three hits and three RBI. Maddy Thompson finished with two hits and two RBI, Lillie Robeson two hits and one RBI, Ella Mitchell two hits and two runs scored, and Sayler a hit and run scored.

The Dreads did not let up in the second game with 25 hits and Cassidy dominating on the mound with four strikeouts and one walk.
