ROTC Cadets assist with a Workshop for Girl Scouts

On January 28,2023, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #557, hosted a Patriotism and Flag Etiquette Workshop for Dexter Area Girl Scouts. Special Guest were University of Michigan Army ROTC Cadets Donaldson, Henderson and Faunt, where accompanied by Lt. Colonel Thomas Church, professor of Military Science at U of M. In addition to Posting the Colors, the cadets taught the scouts how to fold the flag. The scouts also learned the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance, the history of the Star-Spangled Banner and flag etiquette. Additionally, they made thank you cards for patients at the Lt Colonel Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center (Ann Arbor) and participated in crafts. The members of Unit 557 were proud to have offered this service to the community of Dexter.
