SCIO TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SYNOPSIS FEBRUARY 14, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supr. Hathaway at 827 N. Zeeb Road.

Present: Hathaway, Flintoft, Knol, Brazeau, Kerry, Reiser, Palmer

Approved the payment of claims presented and accepted the previous check run report.

Approved minutes of regular meeting of January 24, 2023, with corrections.

Authorized additional funds to complete FYE22 audit by Plante Moran.

Approved the 2023 renewal of the Township’s medical benefit plan coverage from March 1, 2023 through February 28, 2024.

Approved the purchase of a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 for the Fire Department.

Adopted the Resolution supporting the annual Dexter-Ann Arbor Run on June 4, 2023.

Called special Board of Trustees meeting for March 21, 2023 for discussion and possible action on proposed appropriations for Fiscal Year End 2024.

Approved Site Plan #22004 Session Room to construct a 1,200 square foot pavilion.

Approved OA #22007 for parcel H -08-14-400-005 from A-1 to R-1.

Approved Site Plan #22014 Washtenaw County Road Commission Salt Barn to construct a 21,695 square foot salt barn at 555 N. Zeeb Road.

Approved an extension of the contract with KBK Landscaping for plowing and salting through June 30, 2023 not to exceed $15,000.

Adopted an ordinance amending Chapter 8, Animals, of the Codified Scio Township Ordinance.

Accepted the Michigan Economic Development grant of $1,700,000 for use on the Zeeb Road Pathway Phase V and Park Road safety improvements.

Approved appointments of Thomas Morris (3-year term) and Steve Hurt (2-year term) to the Parks, Preserves and Pathways Committee.

Adopted a Resolution authorizing permanent part-time positions for accounting assistant and utilities administrative assistant.
