Age 67, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospice in Jackson. She was born July 31, 1955, in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Norman E. and Paula (Hefele) Curtis.

Ruth graduated from Manchester High School. She then earned her LPN from Eastern Michigan University and her RN from Ferris State University. Ruth worked diligently throughout her life as a float nurse and had a passion for working with children in psychiatric units. She also had a deep admiration for the outdoors and all animals. She loved coordinating ice cream socials at Zion Lutheran Church in Chelsea, where she was also a member. Ruth enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden. She had fond memories growing up spending time in her mother’s garden and fruit trees.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Paula Curtis of Jackson; twin sister, Monica (Gary) Walter of Grass Lake; niece and nephew, Abby Briggs and John (Marianne) Walter; very special great-nieces, Sophie Briggs and Alexis ”Lexie” Walter; and dear cousins, Shelley, Carol and Kitty.
