To obtain public input regarding a resolution to impose a temporary moratorium upon the issuance of Special Use Permits.

WHEREAS, under the present zoning ordinance adopted by Saline Township, the Township Planning Commission has the final authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Special Use Permits; and

WHEREAS, the Saline Township Board has requested the Township Planning Commission to consider amending the zoning ordinance to vest final authority for issuance of Special Use Permits with the Township Board; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT a moratorium is imposed upon the issuance of all Special Use Permits to permit the Planning Commission and Township Board to consider an amendment to the zoning ordinance vesting final authority in the Township Board for approving, approving with conditions or denying Special Use Permits for a period of six (6) months or until the Township Board acts upon the proposed amendment, whichever occurs first.

This moratorium shall not apply to any Special Use application that was submitted prior to the adoption of this resolution.

Any person having interest in said Hearing or their duly appointed representatives shall there and then be heard at the above described meetings or adjournment thereof relative to any matters that should come before the Planning Commission.

Written comments regarding these Zoning Ordinance changes should be directed to the Saline Township Clerk at Saline Township, 4254 Arkona Road, Saline, MI 48176.

Saline Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting/hearing upon ten (10) days notice to Saline Township. Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact Saline Township by writing or calling the Saline Township Clerk at 734-429-9968.
