The Manchester Lady Dutch softball team went 4-0 on the week, winning double headers against Columbia Central on Apr. 30 and Addison on May 2.
The Lady Dutch went off for 61 runs in the four games and only allowed 16 runs , scoring double digit runs in three of the four games.
In the double header against Columbia Central Manchester won game one 15-6. They took control in the third inning with a five runs and added nine over the last three innings.
Third baseman Mallory DeRussel went 4-5 to lead the Lady Dutch with five runs batted in (RBI) and three runs. Center fielder Mackenzie Pietrzyk went 3-4 with three RBI and three runs as the Lady Dutch had 17 hits in the game.
Hayley Blumenauer went the full seven innings, striking out eight with almost a seventy percent strike percentage.
In game two the Lady Dutch had 13 hits resulting in 20 runs, winning 20-4. The Lady Dutch took a 3-2 lead after the first inning but exploded for eight runs in the third and seven in the fifth to cut the game short.
Shortstop Jayden Humphrey hit a grand slam in the third inning as she went 2-3 with five RBI. Pietrzyk went a perfect 3-3 with three RBI. Multiple hitters got in on the action as eight of 11 players tallied RBI.
On May 2 the Lady Dutch won game one against Addison 9-4, tallying 11 hits and scoring in all but one inning.
Blumenauer went 2-3 with two RBI as well as pitching the complete game with 10 strikeouts. Gillian Bross went 2-4 with two RBI, and catcher Taryn Fether, Delaney Bross, and DeRussel all hit home runs in the game.
In game two the Lady Dutch won a shortened contest by the third inning, winning 17-2. They scored 17 runs on 17 hits as they overwhelmed Addison in the first inning outscoring them 11-1.
Fether went 2-2, Humphrey went 2-2 with five RBI (two home runs with one being an inside the park homer), Blumenauer went 2-3, DeRussell went 2-3, Pietrzyk went 3-3, and Olivia Walz went 2-2.
