Lima Twp: Board Meeting Synopsis 1/12/26

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Members present: Supervisor Bill Van Riper, Treasurer Nanette Havens, Clerk Ann Kwaske, Trustee Greg McKenzie and Trustee Dale Luick.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Luick, to approve the agenda as presented. All ayes. Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, supported by McKenzie, to approve the consent agenda of Minutes of December 8 Regular Meeting, Payroll ($12,881.99) and Accounts Payable ($23,162.03) with one addition to the minutes.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Luick, supported by McKenzie, to table action on Community Promotion to Chelsea Update for more information.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Kwaske, to set a Work Session Meeting for February 17, 2026 at 3:00pm to review and discuss potential township policies.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Luick offered the Poverty Guidelines Resolution #26-01 dated 1/2/2026, supported by McKenzie.  Upon a roll call vote, all ayes.  Resolution adopted.

Motion by McKenzie, supported by Luick, to investigate the requirements to sell landlocked parcel G-07-17-200-040.  All ayes.  Motion passed.

Motion by Kwaske, supported by Van Riper, to hold the release of funds to Thornton Farms until we can review with the Township attorney and confirm that this is an appropriate use of public funds.  2 ayes, 3 nays.  Motion failed.

Motion by Havens, supported by Luick, to adjourn.  All ayes.  Motion passed.
