On Nov. 7 the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association announced (MIHSSCA) the 2018 MIHSSCA All-State teams. Listed below are the local schools and players recognized.

Saline High School

Ryan Nichols -1st Team All-State & selected Dream Team member

“Ryan was a 4-year varsity player at Saline. In his career, he tallied 31 goals and over 40 assists. This season he had 9 goals and 11 assists. He’s big, physical, and simply a playmaker. He was always one of the best players on the field.” – head coach Ryan Williams on Nichols.

Zeke Gray (junior) – 2nd Team All-State, 13 goals, 6 assists

“Zeke is a great soccer player. He has great vision and distribution and can change a game at any moment. He is a complete player as he can set others up and can take a game over himself. Very talented player that I expect will have a huge senior year next year.” – head coach Ryan Williams

Quinn Fox – 3rd Team All-state

“Quinn is a brick wall in net. He only gave up 4 goals all season and came up huge for us when we needed him to. Quinn is a great shot stopper and is a very good distributor. He had an incredible year.” – head coach Ryan Williams

Charlie Rogers – All-State Honorable Mention

“Charlie is simply a beast on the field and his presence is always known. He’s the hardest working player on the field every game, and sets the tone for his teammates with the high intensity he plays at. Charlie is a play maker and and incredible leader. He had a fantastic senior year for us. 6 goals 6 assists.” – head coach Ryan Williams

Dexter High School

Sam Harshe – 2nd Team All-State, 1st Team All-District

“For me, Sammy was one of the best players in Division 2 this year. His ability to read the game and ability to change the game at will was exceptional. We also asked him to play a wide variety of positions throughout the season, based on what the team needed. He always went in and did what we asked. We will look for him to lead the team again as captain next year.” – head coach Drew Ducker

Hayden Newton – 3rd Team All-State, 1st Team All-District

“Hayden not only made his debut on Varsity this year but was an impact player from the start. His ability to hold the ball and score goals in close games was his greatest attribute. With him only being a sophomore, we will expect big things from him over the next few years.” – head coach Drew Ducker

Caden Doll – 1st Team All-District

“One of our 3 captains and a senior, he was our general at the center back position. Between making tackles, winning balls in the air, and starting our attack, he was vital to our success this year. He will be missed next year on the field.” – head coach Drew Ducker

Alex Doletsky (AD) – 1st Team All-District

“AD, a senior and one of our 3 captains, suffered an unfortunate injury early on in the year so he missed a good portion of the regular season. However, we were lucky to get him back on Senior night, just in time for districts. Without his presence in the playoffs, we would not have made it as far as we did. He came in late in the season and didn’t miss a beat. He will be missed next year on the field.” – head coach Drew Ducker

Manchester High School

Lenin Fierro – 2nd Team All-State

31 goals, 6 assists

Calvin Daniels – 3rd Team All State

13 goals, 11 assists
