LYNDON TOWNSHIP – 17751 N. Territorial Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Summary of Minutes, November 12, 2024—Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM. During Public Comment, a member of the public complimented the Township on the election and all Township candidates for winning. Items Approved: Agenda; Consent Agenda; Payment of Bills; Audit for the Lyndon Township Fiscal Year July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024; the Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA 24-002) as amended to specify the need of a valid permit from the ordinance officer regarding short-term rental uses; because the amendment will make zoning regulations more equitable, effective, and streamlined by allowing additional potential land uses of properties within the community. The amendment is compatible with the standards 1-8 under section 19.12 (D) of the zoning ordinance, will have a positive impact on the development of the community, will preserve the character of the community, protect the community from negative impacts, will not result in exclusionary zoning and are compatible with the Lyndon Township Master Plan; table the Clerk’s office renovation until the December 2024 Township Board Meeting; Reappoint Robert Mester to the Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority for the term January 2025 through December 31, 2025 (1 year); Increase the Miscellaneous Line Item in the Elections Budget for early voting by $3,000.00; the Quote from Digital Protection System in the amount of $2,120 to upgrade the CCTV Surveillance System; Create the budget line item Education & Mileage in the Broadband Operations Fund Budget and put in $1,000.00; Close the Township Hall from Tuesday, December 24, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. The Township Hall will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2025. Reports were given. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
