Manchester Co-Op Preschool Now Taking Applications

From Jason Aldrich

The Manchester Co-Op Preschool is a place for children to learn and socialize through play and exploration. The child-initiated learning projects embrace the Montessori style learning with a hands-on approach. The classroom is functional and inviting and blends inspiring programs focused on early childhood education.

The mission of MCP is based on the idea that the classroom is the “Children’s House”. The children are encouraged to initiate lessons, direct play and create and care for their own learning environment.

MCP was founded in the 1960s.

The 2018 school year will kick off for the first time in its own independent building.

Community is a big part of the preschool by giving students the opportunity to be in the program for 2-3 years with the same children. It allows them to build strong relationships, develop confidence and become comfortable in their school.

There are currently several openings for 3-5 year olds in the mixed age classroom Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
