The Manchester Flying Dutchmen Cross Country team traveled to Michigan Center to participate in a relay Friday, August 17.

Instead of a traditional format, it was a two-mile relay with teams of four. Each leg of the relay ran two miles, a mile loop ran twice, with some obstacles in a few spots on the course.

A school could only medal once, so if multiple teams entered, the medal was awarded to the first team through.

The girls’ team finished third behind Western who took first and Chelsea in second place. The team was comprised of Mary Bradshaw, Liz O’Hotzke, Jessie Lacy, and Jocelyn Boote.

The boys’ team of Seth Beerens, Chase Flint, Bobby Romburger, and Devin Mackenzie took sixth. A second team of Miles West, Preston Mackenzie, and Evan Thompsom completed the run with only three team members.
