The Manchester girls’ cross country team had three girls run at the Division 3 State Finals at MIS Saturday and all three had strong finishes to their season.
In spite of the nice weather for November, the runners faced a tough soggy course due to heavy rain Thursday. The last tenth of a mile was a swampy, muddy, quagmire that slowed almost all runners finishes.
Junior Mary Bradshaw led the Dutchmen with a 31st place finish in 20:01.9. The finish was a heartbreaker as she missed All-State Honors by 6 tenths of a second.
Senior Jocelyn Boote finished 53rd in 20:34.7, crossing the finish line at almost the same time as two other girls.
Elizabeth O’Hotzke finished off her senior year with a 91st place finish in 21:00.7. The exact same time as a Charlevoix runner.
The race featured 238 runners.
