The Manchester Lady Dutch Softball team split a pair of games last week, defeating the Pittsford Wildcats May 22 in a doubleheader before falling to Parma-Western May 23.
Manchester defeated Pittsford 14-8 in game one of the double header. They were outhit 11-10 by the Wildcats but the Lady Dutch overwhelmed from the beginning, scoring seven runs in the first three innings before adding six more in the fifth and sixth innings.
Jayden Humphrey went 2-4 with four RBI, while Hayley Blumenauer added three RBI to lead the Lady Dutch.
In the fifth inning Blumenauer and Gillian Bross drove in four runs for the Lady Dutch.
Blumenauer was the winning pitcher, allowing fit hits and three runs with six strikeouts.
The Lady Dutch won game two, 8-3 outhitting the Wildcats 14-5. Humphrey had 4 RBIs after a home run in the first and a single in the fourth inning.
Mallory DeRussel got the win on the mound, striking out three in seven innings.
Manchester dropped both games against Parma-Western on May 23, 15-0 and 17-9. After a shortened game one the Lady Dutch put up a fight in game two.
They were outhit 21-14 but battled from the start, outscoring Parma-Western 5-4 after two innings.
Blumenauer led the team with a double in the first, second, and fourth, driving in five runs but the Lady Dutch couldn’t keep up with the bats of Parma Western.
