Manchester Track and Field Competes at East Jackson Dome Classic

The Manchester Track and Field team traveled to East Jackson April 20 to compete in the East Jackson Dome Classic.

Over 16 teams competed with Manchester boys and girls placing in the top ten. The team finished in eighth place with 44.33 points behind Addison (90.16), Jonesville (72.16), Onsted (59), Leslie (57), Stockbridge (53), Napoleon (51), and Clinton (51).

Junior Paul Derheim took first in the 36” 300m hurdles with a time of 43.32m a new personal record.

The Manchester 4×200 relay team took second only to Clinton and finished with a time of 1:37.08 behind Clintons 1:36.41

In the 4×400 relay, the Dutchmen placed second to Leslie.

In the long jump freshman Henry Wehrly set a new personal record while taking second in the long jump with a jump of 19-04.25.

The girls finished in fifth place with 55 points behind Onsted (87), Grass Lake (86), Addison (74), and Jackson Lumen Christi (58).

Freshman Jessie Phillips (3, 13.86) and Gwen Gebhardt (5, 13.90) both finished top five in the 100m while setting new personal records.

Sophomore Mary Bradshaw had a day in the distance events. In the 800m Bradshaw took third with a time of 2:42.88, she also placed second in the 1600m with a time of 5:59.25, and took second in the 3200m with a time of 12:52.92.
