Following the conclusion of the 2017-18 season, last week Associated Press post-season awards were announced, honoring the top high school players and coaches.

Corey Fether, head coach of the Manchester Lady Dutch Varsity basketball team, was named 2nd team All-State Class C Coach of the Year along with Steve Eklund of Pewamo-Westphalia.

Fether just wrapped up his fifth year as Varsity head coach and improved from last season’s 14-7 (11-3) record to 19-6 (11-3) this year, capturing a district title and reaching the regional title game before falling to Arbor Prep.

The regional title game was the furthest the Lady Dutch have advanced in the postseason since winning the Class C State title in 2013. With only one senior departing, Fether returns all five starters next year.
