Maxine was a devout Christian and lifelong member of the Unadilla Presbyterian Church. She served as a Deacon, an Elder, choir director, and took part in the Women’s Missionary Group, bake sales, and taught Sunday school.
Growing up, Maxine’s family grew watermelon and sweet corn which they took to the Eastern Market in Detroit and sold. She worked for Rockwell and then Tuttle Spring in Chelsea. She also carried mail on weekends for several years. Maxine had a beautiful singing voice and sang in community and church choirs. She enjoyed going to yard sales and refinishing furniture.

Preceding her in death is her husband, and two sisters, Beulah Landis and Donna Lee.
The family would like to express their appreciation of Tonya Lynn Corser. Tonya and Maxine’s shared faith served them well for 3 1/2 years. Tonya’s devotion, kindness, and loving care allowed Maxine to stay in her home, which was her wish, and pass away in peace.
