Synopsis of Regular Meeting Minutes

November 12, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor Maier.  Also present were Clerk Bater, Treasurer Havens, and Trustees Laier and Luick, along with several Township residents.  The AGENDA was approved as amended.  The REGULAR MEETING MINUTES of October 8, 2018 was approved as presented.  Three residents spoke during public comment. The Treasurer’s report was submitted by Treasurer, Nanette Havens.  There was no Old BUSINESS.


The Township Board re-appointed all expiring Board/Committee/Commission/Team members for another term as follows:

Tax Board of Review (2 Year Term) Mary Tobin, Archie Bradbury, Marlene Consiglio, and Ronald Howdyshell; Zoning Board of Appeals (3 year Term) Donald Laier and William Coltre;  Planning Commission (3 Year Term) William Coltre, Edwin GreenLeaf and Nanette Havens; Chelsea Area Planning Team/Dexter Area Regional Team (CAPT/DART) (2 Year Term) Edwin GreenLeaf and Craig Maier; Township Cemetery Sexton (2 Year Term)  Edwin GreenLeaf;  Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE) (2 Year Term) Arlene Bareis and Edwin GreenLeaf.

Also under NEW BUSINESS: The Township Board gave approval to allow the Supervisor to coordinate the leasing of the Charging Station (11506 Jackson Road) for not less than $850.00 per month otherwise it must come before the Board. The CONSENT AGENDA was approved as follows: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE –  $19,726.63 and PAYROLL – $14,973.63.

For CORRESPONDENCE there were two items:  SEMCOG’s 50TH Anniversary Tile, and a thank you note from a family on Bee Tree Lane.

Reports were given.

During final PUBLIC COMMENT resident Nate Dawson spoke on the increasing amount of high-speed, cut-through traffic on the access road in front of the Chelsea Grain company.

In response, the Board approved a letter of support to be sent to the Washtenaw County Road Commission for closure, by the use of gates, of the stretch of access road that runs in front of the Chelsea Grain Company.  The meeting was adjourn at 8:14 p.m.
