FREEDOM TOWNSHIP
MUNICIPAL CIVIL INFRACTION VIOLATIONS ORDINANCE
To the residents and property owners of the Township Of Freedom, Washtenaw County, Michigan.
This Ordinance was duly adopted by the Freedom Township Board at its regular meeting called and held on June 12th, 2018, and was ordered given publication in the manner required by law. ORDINANCE NO. 47
Section 1. This section states the title of the Ordinance.
Section 2. This section states the definitions or words and phrases used in the Ordinance.
Section 3. This section states that an Ordinance Violation Bureau is established, and the location and personnel related to it.
Section 4. This section states the authority given to the Ordinance Violation Bureau.
Section 5. This section states the Township Officials who are authorized to issue municipal civil infraction violation notices and/or municipal civil infraction citations.
Section 6. This section states a municipal civil infraction action may be commenced upon the issuance by an authorized Township official.
Section 7. This section states the process to issue and serve a Municipal Ordinance Violation Notice or Municipal Civil Infraction Citation.
Section 8. This section states the Ordinance Violation Notice requirements and the admission/denial of responsibility.
Section 9. This section states the Municipal Civil Infraction Citation requirements.
Section 10. This section states that the Township Board may establish a schedule of civil fines and costs applied to Municipal Civil Infraction Violation Notices.
Section 11. This section states the process to retain records and handle the accounting of all municipal civil infraction violation notices and citations.
Section 12. This section states the availability of other enforcement options.
Section 13. This section states the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
Section 14. This section states all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this are hereby repealed.
Section 15. This section provides that the Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after it (or a summary of it) is published in a newspaper of general circulation within the Township.
