Chelsea Police Department Weekly Press Summary

Incident #: 18-3084 Location: 200 block of Jackson Street
Date: October 7, 2018 Time: 8:15 am
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol an officer responded to the 200 block of Jackson Street for the report of a larceny of some yard decorations. The complainant stated that sometime between the hours of 12:30 am and 8:00 am an unknown suspect(s) had stolen 5 or 6 strands of orange Halloween lights as well as some other Halloween decorations that were on the front area of the residence. There was no suspect information available at the time of the report. The officer did note that there did appear to be some bicycle tracks that led to railroad street but the tracks were lost and it was unclear if these tracks were related to the theft.

 

Incident #: 18-3052 Location: 800 block of West Middle Street
Date: October 4, 2018 Time: 4:31 pm
INFORMATION: While on routine patrol an officer responded to the 800 block of West Middle Street for the report of a larceny of an Ipad tablet. The complainant stated that she had the Ipad placed on her nightstand when she went to bed and when she awoke she noticed that the Ipad was no longer there. At the time of the report there were no suspects available. The case was closed pending any further investigative leads or suspect information.

9/29 ~While on proactive patrol, deputies came across a male subject sitting in his car in the area of Waterloo Road and Shagbark Road.  Upon contact with the 18 year old male, deputies could smell s strong odor of marijuana.  After a conversation with the male, marijuana was discovered in the vehicle along with numerous other drug paraphernalia items.  His parents were called and they responded to get the vehicle and take possession of the suspect.

9/30 ~Deputies made a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and Jeffords for speeding.  When contact was made with the driver, he showed signs of intoxication.  Field sobriety tests confirmed this and the driver (25 year old male from Pinckney) was transported to the hospital for a blood draw, then to the Washtenaw County Jail.
