Chelsea City Police

5/15 ~11:43pm, officers responded to the 1600 block of S. Main Street for the report of a silent holdup alarm at a business. Upon arrival officers made contact with the complainant who stated that she had in fact been the victim of an armed robbery and the suspect had fled on foot to the north of the building. A request for a K-9 officer was requested and with the assistance of the Ann Arbor Police Department the track ended in the 1500 block of S. Main Street near the side of some nearby businesses. The complainant stated that a masked suspect entered her place of work at around 11:40pm and pointed a black handgun at her and demanded all of the money out of the cash drawer. The complainant complied with the demands and the suspect took the money and fled the scene north possibly towards an awaiting car in a nearby parking lot.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: The suspect is described as being a light skinned black male approximately 6’ 1” and approximately 260-275 lbs. The suspect was wearing a light blue fabric mask covering part of his face and was wearing a black in color nylon jacket, dark colored sweat pants, a Detroit Tigers ball cap, white or light-colored gloves, and white and red Reebok brand sneakers.



5/17 ~2:50am, officer noticed an audible burglary alarm that had been set off in the 1600 block of S. Main Street. The officer located the building where the alarm was originating from and located a rear service door where entry into the building had been forced. A search of the property was conducted and no one was inside the building. Contact was made with the property owner and upon doing inventory of the property it was determined that some start-up money had been stolen. It was unknown when the break in had actually occurred but happened sometime between the hours of 6pm on May 16and 2:50am on May 17. The case remains open pending further investigation into the incident.

5/19 ~11am, officer was dispatched to the 20000 block of West Old US 12 for the report of an email harassment complaint. The complainant stated that as part of their business items are posted on Craigslist for sale and over the last several months she has been receiving multiple harassing type reply messages to items posted online. The complainant stated however, that today she received a message from an unknown sender in response to an item posted and this particular message had a different tone to it and the wording seemed to have escalated. At this time the incident remains open pending further investigation to attempt to identify the person(s) sending the messages.

5/6 ~A report of Disorderly Persons was made in the 500 Block of West Main Street.  The parties were contacted, identified and advised about the volume level of their discussions.

5/10 ~A man was accidentally killed by a driverless vehicle in the 700 Block of Parr Street.  The vehicle rolled over the man resulting in his death.

5/13 ~1900 block Harley Dr, Scio Twp. A resident reported that a lawn tractor/mower for sale in his front yard had been stolen.  Sometime during the night prior, someone came and loaded the tractor up and stole it.  The mower is described as a YTD Lawn Machine, dark green in color.

5/16 ~Area of Huron River Dr and Wagner, Scio Twp a victim had parked his car in a small dirt area off the side of the road and went fishing on the Huron River.  When he returned he noticed that someone had entered his car and stole his wallet containing cash and credit cards.  There are suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
