Saline City Police

2/28 ~Attempted robbery – armed. Officers were dispatched to the area of N. Harris and Nichols for an armed robbery. SPD received multiple calls about a male showing up to houses saying he was robbed at gun point. Officers made contact with the caller, a juvenile. Victim stated he was robbed at gunpoint by two others, ran from the scene, and went door to door knocking for help and for someone to call the police.

Witnesses stated they were sitting in their living room when a young male subject came to the back door of their home banging on the window asking for them to call police and that he had just been robbed. The witnesses locked their doors, called police, and watched the subject until police arrived.



Victim’s mother arrived on scene with other victims involved in the robbery attempt and all went back to SPD to give their statements.

Victim and three other individuals met up with suspect at Brecon Park. Suspect pulled a gun out and pointed it at the four victims, demanding possessions. The four victims ran one by one after two gave up their phones. Victim stated he saw another individual appear with a hand gun as they were fleeing the scene. Victim stated he though there was a dark colored pick-up truck trying to catch him as he ran door to door. Victim stated he thought he heard gun shots at one point while running.

Second suspect stated he was there but denied involvement in the activities. After completing his interview with the SPD, the second suspect, a juvenile, was allowed to go home with his step-father.

Suspect was arrested after a cell phone location alerted officers to their location. Subject’s guardian took officers to location, officers were able to convince subject to come in and talk. Subject talked to officers on the phone, gave location, and was taken into custody by SPD officers.

Suspect taken to Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center and lodged.

Argument stemmed over a feud over a significant other for the suspect and victim.

3/5 ~Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol/Liquor, 3rd offense. Saline Police Department (SPD) received a call regarding a highly intoxicated subject walking in city lot #1 heading towards a vehicle. Dispatch advised the responding officer that the subject had gotten into the vehicle, started the vehicle, and revved the engine. When the officer arrived on scene he approached the vehicle on the passenger side and observed an open six pack of beer on the floor in front of the passenger seat. Subject showed trouble with memory and failed field sobriety tests. Subject was arrested for OWI 3. A warrant request for OWI 3 was approved and signed at the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s office on 3/6.

3/10 ~500 block of Auto Mall Drive (Scio Twp), victim took car in for service at a dealership and when they came back several days later to pick it up they noticed that the radio/GPS unit had been stolen out of the car.  It is unknown when exactly the crime occurred.  There are no suspects at this time.
3/11 ~7000 block of Dexter Ann Arbor (Dexter City), victim went to the bathroom at a business and set their cell phone down.  They left without it and when the realized this they went back to get it but it was gone.  Numerous employees and patrons had access to the bathroom and cell phone during this time.  The phone has not been located as of now but the investigation is ongoing.
3/14 ~25 Jackson Industrial Drive  (Scio Twp), sometime in the early morning hours of this date, someone used a large brick to smash out the front window of a business.  The suspect(s) then entered the business and stole a small cash register that contained an unknown amount of money.  No suspects have been identified as of this time but the incident is under investigation.

3/11 ~Report of Identity Theft was made in the 200 block of North Washington Street.  The case remains under investigation.

~Deputies responded to a dog bite in the 100 block of Hibbard Street.  The dog and dog owner were identified and arrangements for quarantine made.  The case is pending quarantine results.

3/13 ~Deputies responded to a location in Bridgewater Township to investigate the origin of a social media post depicting a student with a hand gun that came to the attention of Manchester High School staff.  There was no direct threat to the school or any individual.  The case has been turned over to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review and charges resulting from the investigation.
