River Raisin Park Update

Neil Billetdeaux, representative from Smith Group JJR, reported to the Manchester Village Council on August 6, that the dredging was going well with approximately 40 percent completion.

In addition, he also reported that the site work to the park will be delayed as the Michigan Department of Natural Resources reviews the plan. It was a missed step and needs to be completed before requests for bids for park construction can go out.

With this delay, the general timetable would mean site work would start in the fall with finishing up in April of next year.

Village Manager Jeff Wallace noted his disappointment with the developments, talking to The Sun Times about the pushed back timeline with the site review still in question.

Village President Pat Vailliencourt indicated there could be no more delays with the project.
