Robert (Bob) Van Orman 91, of Chelsea formerly of Milan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice House in Jackson, Michigan.

Bob was born on May 31, 1933 to G.C. and Jenny Van Orman. He graduated from Milan High School and he proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961. He with his parents and brother G.C. William Van Orman, owned and operated Van’s Stores Inc in Milan and Brooklyn, Michigan for many years.

Bob enjoyed gardening and being outside. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling.

Bob is survived by his wife of 69 years Joan Van Orman; daughter Kimberly Rock of Good Year, Arizona, son Kevin (Debra) Van Orman of Chelsea; grandchildren, Brandon (Rafisa) Clark of Tokyo, Japan, Jeremy (Kaitlin) Van Orman of Chelsea, Gregory (Kelly Jo) Van Orman of Chelsea, Jason (Alicia) Stetson of Fenton, and Tracy (Jeffrey) Kelly of Pueblo, Colorado; 10 great grandchildren and niece Kay Van Orman of Saline. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his brother.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at the Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Robert’s name be made to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice House in Jackson Michigan. 2150 Kingsbrooke Drive, Jackson, Michigan 49202.
