The Saline baseball team came away with a doubleheader sweep of SEC White champion Tecumseh in the SEC crossovers last week. The Red champion Hornets defeated the Indians 4-1 and 5-2.
Saline took a 1-0 lead on an RBI groundout by Cole Daniels. It would stay that way until the sixth when a Reagan Miller sacrifice fly made it 2-0. Vinnie Patteri added an RBI single later in the inning to make it 3-0.
The Hornets added an insurance run in the seventh when Miller walked to force in a run.
Tecumseh got a run back in the seventh and put two runners on, but a flyout ended the game.
Jack O’Keefe, Paul Kiyabu, Alex Morrison, Jacob Ohren-Hoeft, and Patteri had one hit each.
Logan Evans earned the win on the mound striking out four.
The Hornets scored three in the third inning of the second game and cruised to the 5-2 win.
Noah Nelson had two hits and two runs scored to lead the offense. Daniels had a hit and two RBI, while Morrison added a hit and RBI.
Saline defeated Ann Arbor Skyline 6-1 earlier in the week to finish undefeated in the SEC Red.
The Hornets scored two in the first, but the Eagles got one back in the fifth to make it 5-1.
Saline scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh to pull away for the win.
Ohren-Hoeft had two hits and two runs scored to lead the bats. Daniels added a hit and two RBI, while Morrison and Evans had a hit and RBI each.
