The Saline boys’ track teams swept a pair of SEC Red meets last week while the girls split their tri-meet.

The boys swept Ann Arbor Pioneer 75-62 and Ann Arbor Huron 81.5-55.5 and the girls defeated Huron 107-30 and fell to Pioneers 93-44.

First place finishes for the boys went to Christopher Chuparkoff in the 400, Matthew Lau shot put, Trevor Garbo discus, and Eric Harris in the pole vault and long jump.

The Hornets finished second in all four relays, Chuparkoff second in the 200, Jack Fenelon 400, Anthony DeKraker 1600, Luke Atzinger 110 and 300 hurdles, Garbo shot put, Grant Armstrong discus, and Matthew Hardt pole vault.


The girls were led by Lauryn Hunt who won the 100 and 400. Hunt also finished second in the 200 and set a Saline school record with a time of 25.23.

Alexa Stern won the 3200 and Sloane Pepper the high jump.

Second place finishes went to Rebecca Cantrell 3200, the 4×200 and 4×800 relays, Charlotte Peterson in the pole vault, and Greta Downey long jump.
