The Saline cross country team had a strong showing at the second SEC Red jamboree of the season last week with the girls finishing second and the boys third.
The girls finished with a strong 38 points, but Pioneer dominated with a final score of 22.
Kayla Fortino finished third in 19:54 and Nicole Dillmann 5th in 20:24 to lead the Hornets.
Madi Wood was 8th in 20:35, Taylor Yaklich 10th in 20:40, Madison Stern 12th on 20:48, Emma Cummings 13th in 20:52, and Ella Woehlke 15th in 21:08.
The boys finished with 52 points in a close meet that Pioneer won with 36 and Skyline second with 47.
William Minnette finished 3rd in 16:39.33 and Simon Pfeiffer 4th in 16:39.36.
The Hornets had a pack of five runners finish in order. Cole Trese finished 14th in 17:17, Christofer Clisham Jr 15th in 17:25, Jevin Nishioka 16th in 17:27, Emmett Berryhill 17th in 17:28, and Brock Boze 18th in 17:28.
The girls finished 9th at the Ann Arbor Running Club Coaching Legend Classic Saturday.
The Hornets finished with 290 in the meet won by Northville with 76.
Woehlke led Saline with a 25th place finish in 19:43, followed by Maddie Stewart in 48th in 20:20. Claire Endres was 56th in 20:32, Jenna Allman 62nd in 20:45, Maekayla Rice 103rd in 21:35, Makenna Lupi 108th in 21:39, and Kaitlyn Eckerman 109th in 21:39.
The boys finished fifth at the Marauder Invite Saturday with 111 points. Salem won with 35.
Noah Pelletier finished 11th in 17:28 and Joseph Fedoronko 19th in 17:38 to lead the Hornets.
Williams Downey was 23rd in 17:48, Matthew Thibeault 31st in 18:03, Kyle Lentine 32nd in 18:04, Hunter Bozzi 35th in 18:06, and Luke Crowner 36th in 18:06.8.
