Saline Firefighters Battle House Fire on Willis Road

Fire gutted a home on the 1100 block of West Willis Road in York Township Saturday afternoon. There were no injuries.

Firefighters from the Saline Area Fire Department were dispatched to the single-story ranch home shortly after 3:30 p.m.  Firefighters from Pittsfield Township also helped battle the blaze while firefighters from Milan assisted with a tanker.



Lt. Dan Speicher, of the Saline Area Fire Department, said residents of the home were up north at the time of the blaze. An electrician had been out at the house earlier that day, Speicher said.

Firefighters quickly knocked the blaze down, but not before flames gutted the home.

Police from Saline and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control. EMTs from Huron Valley Ambulance were on hand.
