The Saline girls’ tennis team continued its strong play of late sweeping Bedford 8-0 last week.

The Hornets dominated by not losing more than two games in any set in any of the eight matches.

Andrea Teofilovic was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at one singles, while Madison Caldwell won 6-0 and 6-2 at two singles. Carly Hiner won 6-2, 6-2 in three singles, and Jenny Wolf 6-1 and 6-0 at four singles.

Three of the doubles teams won their matches 6-2, 6-1. Wins went to Zoe Ellsworth and Ally Heider at one doubles, Megan Foley and Saige Jost two doubles, and Lindsey Barba and Brooke Engelhardt at four doubles. Nina Ellsworth and Sarah Roberts won 6-0 and 6-1 at three doubles.


The Hornets finished second at Rochester quad. They finished with 14 points, while Cranbrook Kingswood won with 19 points.

Teofilovic, won at one singles with a 3-0 record, while Caldwell also went 3-0 to win two singles.

Second place finishes with 2-1 records went to Hiner at three singles, Zoe Ellsworth and Jost at one doubles, Nina Ellsworth and Roberts at three doubles, and Barba/Englehardt at four doubles.
