Saline Girls’ Water Polo Season Ends in Regionals

The Saline girls’ water polo team saw its season come to an end in a heartbreaking 8-7 overtime loss in the first round of the Regional at Ann Arbor Huron last week.

The Hornets gave second seed Okemos all they could handle taking a 6-4 lead into the final period, but the Chief’s would rally.

Okemos outscored the Hornets 3-1 in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 7-7 and send it into the overtime period. They would score the game winner and pull out the come from behind win.

Cassie Anderson led the Hornets with five goals. Audrey Cook and Eleanor Smith scored the other goals for Saline.
