The Saline boys’ golf team shot one of its best rounds of the year to date and tied for the top spot at the Wildcats Invitational at Pheasant Run Golf Course Friday.
The Hornets and Northville each shot team scores at the event to tie for first.
Harper Hummel shot a scorching round of two-over 74 to finish second overall to lead Saline.
Benjamin Holloway was one stroke back in fourth with a round of 75, with Zeb Siegel right behind with 77. Haidren Stewart shot 79 and Keegan Cahill 85.
The Hornets won three of four matches in SEC play this week.
Saline opened by taking a pair of matches in Monroe at Carrington Golf Course.
The Hornets shot 155 to beat out Monroe with 163 and Bedford 164.
Holloway led the way with a round of 37 to take the top overall spot.
Hummel was third with a round of 38 and Siegel right behind with 39. Stewart shot 41, while Will Winslow and Micah Gray each shot 42.
Saline then split a pair of matches at Inverness Golf Club in Chelsea falling to the Bulldogs 154-158 and beating Ypsilanti 158-231.
Siegel took first overall with a round of 36.
Winslow finished with 40, while Holloway and Hummel each shot 41. Gray finished with 42 and Stewart 45.
