After a sluggish start, the Saline hockey team used a big second period to rally past Livonia Churchill 4-3 Saturday, January 6.
Saline took a 1-0 lead in the first on a goal by Tom Raupp with an assist to Yanic Sadek.
Churchill responded with a pair of goals to end the first with a 2-1 lead.
The Hornets bounced back in the second.
Connor Wright and Brendan Murphy teamed up for a pair of goals, with each scoring one and assisting on the goal of the other to make it 3-2.
Logan Denjanovich made it 4-2 with a goal that was assisted by Alex Birkle and Zach Harrison.
Churchill cut the Hornet lead to 4-3 with a power-play goal with just over two minutes left in the game, but Saline was able to hold them off for the win.
The Hornets were outshot 20-17 in the game, but Cameron Crawford came up big in the net for the Hornets.
