The Saline Hornet Boys Lacrosse team picked up another win on Wednesday, Apr. 25, hosting the Clarkston Wolves at Hornet Stadium.

The Hornets were in control throughout the night as the 15-7 score was less indicative of the quality of the win.

Less than two minutes into the game senior attacker Tanyr Krummenacher kicked off the scoring for the Hornets, coming from behind the net and beating the keeper for the 1-0 Hornet lead.

Krummenacher would score six goals to lead the Hornets as junior attacker Chris Peters scored two more in the first quarter to give the Hornets a 3-0 lead.

In the second quarter, the Hornets outscored the Wolves 4-1, with goals from Krummenacher (2), senior attacker Davis Bruneau, and senior midfielder Jack Loveland.

The highlight goal of the quarter was Loveland’s, one minute and eleven seconds into the quarter. He faced a Wolves defender one on one in front of the goal, shook him with a side step before firing a shot to the left of the keeper before he could react.

In the second half, the Wolves were able to score three goals in the first three minutes of the quarter before senior midfielder Jackson Fairman, senior long-stick midfielder Will Olsen, and Loveland all scored within three minutes of each other late in the quarter to put the score at 10-4 heading into the fourth.

The Wolves would add one early, but the Hornets answered quickly with goals from Krummenacher (3), Loveland, and Fairman to put the game out of reach. Fairman scored the last goal for the Hornets at 5:08 to make the game 15-5. The Wolves would score two more goals in the last two minutes to make the final score 15-7.
