With a win and a tie this week, the Saline soccer team clinched the outright SEC Red title.
The Hornets opened the week by blanking Ann Arbor Skyline 1-0.
It was matchup was between the top two teams in the Red and they battled it out for the full 80 minutes.
The lone goal came late in the first half when Zeke Grey found the net on a pass from Ryan Nichols.
Quinn Fox was stellar in net for the Hornets, making several key saves to keep the Eagles off the board.
The win gave Saline a six-point lead in the conference and a tie for the league title, the outright title came Thursday night when Saline battled to a 1-1 tie with Pioneer on Senior Night.
Pioneer took the early lead on a penalty kick, but the Hornets answered a short time later when Noel Sompa scored the equalizer to make it 1-1.
Fox and Same Herner split time in net to keep Pioneer at bay and earn the one point to clinch the outright SEC title for the Hornets.
Saline then defeated Rochester Adams 1-0 Saturday.
Both teams had chances early, but neither could find the net until Brayden Stavros knocked one home on a pass from Charlie Rogers for the games lone goal. Fox earned the shutout in net for the Hornets.
Saline improved to 13-0-3 overall on the season and 7-0-2 in the Red.
