The Saline soccer team moved to the top of the SEC Red standings with a pair of big wins last week.
The Hornets opened the week by downing two-time defending Red champions Skyline 2-1.
Charlie Rogers sent a ball deep toward the Eagle net and Zeke Gray beat the goalkeeper to the ball and then placed the ball into the net for a 1-0 Hornet lead.
It stayed that way until the half and early in the second the Hornets extended their lead to 2-0 when Rogers hit Ryan Nichols with a crossing pass, who then drilled it over the outstretched hands of the Eagle goaltender.
The Hornet defense clamped down for most of the second half, but Skyline picked up the pace in the final minutes forcing some corner kicks that Quinn Fox made saves on.
Skyline broke through in the final minute to make it 2-1, but the Hornets held on.
The Hornets then defeated rival AA Pioneer 2-0.
Gray scored both goals for the Hornets, finding the net in each half with assists to Nichols on both goals. Fox posted the shutout in net for Saline.
The Hornets improved to 4-0 in the SEC Red.
