The Saline softball team got off to a slow start but battled back to earn a doubleheader spit against Monroe in the SEC Red last week.
The Hornets bats struggled in the opener, falling to the Trojans 11-0.
Saline could muster just two hits in the game and Monroe scored nine first-inning runs to take control and roll to the win.
Kelsey Alexander had a double and Ashley Heren a single for the only hits for the Hornets.
The Hornets bounced back to take the nightcap 7-6.
Monroe led 4-2 after two, but the Hornets tied it in the third and scored three in the fourth to take a 7-4 lead. The Trojans scored two in the bottom of the seventh as Alex Pace slammed the door for the win.
Alexander had two hits and an RBI to lead the offense. Brooke Bauer had two hits and scored two runs, while Maddie Shelton had a hit and two RBI. Pace earned the win striking out one and allowing eight hits in seven innings on the mound.
Saline then downed Pinckney 9-7.
Alexander led off the first with a home run and the Hornets added three in the second for a 4-0 lead.
Pinckney battled back to tie it at four in the fifth, but the Hornets scored five times to take control and pull out the win.
Pace had two hits and two RBI, while Alexander had three hits and one RBI and Lindsay Rittenhouse had two hits and one RBI. Bauer added two hits, Heren and Shelton a hit and RBI each.
