Saline Softball Sweeps Pair From Huron

The Saline softball bats were red hot in a doubleheader sweep of Ann Arbor Huron last week, winning 15-5 and 15-0.

The Hornets pounded three home runs and 17 hits in the opener. Kelsey Alexander, Brooke Bauer, and Katie Bauer each smacked home runs for the Hornets.

Katie Bauer finished with three hits and three RBI, while Alex Pace and Lindsay Rittenhouse had three hits each. Brooke Bauer and Emma Schwartzenberger each had two hits and four RBI, Makenzie Marion two hits and Alexander the home run and three RBI.

Dani Cabello earned the win with seven strikeouts.

The Hornets pounded out 23 hits and Pace allowed just two in the second game mercy.

Ashley Heren, Brooke Bauer, Pace, Maddie Demlow, Isabella Darmos picked up three hits each. Alexander, Marion, and Rittenhouse collected a pair of hits, while Schwartzenberger and Cabello each had one hit.

The Hornets dropped a 14-3 decision to Chelsea Friday. Brooke Bauer had two hits, while Elaina Walker had a hit and RBI. Maddie Shelton and Rittenhouse also collected hits.

Saline traveled to Ohio for a pair of games Saturday and dropped both 13-3 and 7-4.

Alexander and Brooke Bauer had two hits each to lead the Hornets. Shelton and Cobello each had a hit and RBI in the opener.

The second game saw Alexander, Schwartzenberger, Brooke Bauer, and Pace collect two hits each and Cobello one.
