Saline Tennis Battles to Tie Novi

The girls’ tennis team battled to a 4-4 tie with Novi last week in a match that was close throughout with four of the matches being decided by a third-set tiebreaker.

Madison Caldwell won her two-singles match with a 4-6, 7-5, 10-5 three-set thriller, while Carly Hiner won her three-singles match 6-2, 6-0.

Aly Heider/Zoe Ellsworth won at one-doubles 6-4, 6-2 and Megan Foley/Saige Jost won their two-doubles match in a three-set battle 4-6, 6-4, 10-5.



Andrea Teofilovic dropped a tough three-set match at one-singles 6-4, 3-6, 3-10 and Nina Ellsworth/Sarah Robert dropped a three-set match at three-doubles 2-6, 6-4, 1-6.

The Hornets swept Dexter 8-0 in an SEC crossover. Saline did not lose more than two games in any set.

Picking up wins for the Hornets were Teofilovic (one-singles), Caldwell (two-singles), Hiner (three-singles), and Jenny Wolf (four-singles).

Ellsworth/Heider won at one doubles, Foley/Jost at two-doubles, Elllsworth/Roberts three-doubles, and Lindsey Barba/Brooke Englehardt at four doubles.
