The Saline track teams both came away with victories in an SEC Red dual meet with Bedford last week. The boys won their meet 86-51 and the girls 90-47.
The girls won all four relay races, while the boys won three of four.
Lauryn Hunt won the 100 and 200 dash to lead the girls. Also picking up wins were Ella Woehlke in the 800, Kayla Fortino 1600, Emily Cook 100 hurdles, Jessi Larson 3200, Sloane Pepper high jump, Charlotte Peterson pole vault, and Greta Downey long jump.
First place finishers for the boys were Christopher Chuparkoff in the 100, Winford Walker 200, Anthony DeKraker 800, Will Minnett 1600, Luke Atzinger 300 hurdles, Eric Harris pole vault, and Trevor Garbo shot put.
The boys finished third with 78 points and the girls fourth with 69 points at Jackson’s Charlie Janke Invitational Saturday. East Kentwood dominated by easily winning both meets.
Walker led the boys by winning the 200 and finishing sixth in the 400. Minnette won the 3200, while Harris was second in the pole vault and DeKraker second in the 1600. Atzinger was fourth in the 300 hurdles and pole vault and sixth in the 110 hurdles. The 4×800 relay team of Joshua Cook, William Downey, Cam Bacarella, and Christopher Van Dyke was third, while Bacarella fourth in the 800 and Jacob Stack fourth in the 200.
Larson led the girls by winning the 3200, while Peterson won the pole vault.
The 4×800 relay team of Ella Eoehlke, Rebecca Cantrell, Fortino, and Abigail Wilson was second, while the 4×400 team of Suzanne Chuparkoff, Hunt, Fortino, and Emma Cummings was third. Juliana Romero was third in the 3200, while Nicole Dillman was fourth. Hunt finished fourth in the 400, while Fortino fourth in the 800.
