In April 2024, Deputies responded to 769 calls for police service in Scio Township, up from 764 the previous year, a 1% increase. Total calls for 2024 (Jan-Apr) are 3,046, down from 3,274 for the same period last year, a 7% drop.
Officers conducted 346 traffic stops, up from 301 last year. Seventy-four citations were issued.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office reported the following details to Scio Township:
On April 5th, deputies took a report for the theft of a large landscaping rock from the complainant’s front yard in the 2600 block of Wagner Road. There are currently no suspects.
On April 9th, deputies assisted the Scio Township Fire Department with a house fire in the 3400 block of Stowe Street. The fire was determined to be accidental.
On April 12th, deputies were dispatched to the 4300 block of Eyrie Drive for gunshots heard in the area. Deputies canvased that area but did not locate any casings or anything suspicious.
On April 15th, deputies investigated a malicious destruction of property call in the 200 block of Metty Drive. A passenger side window was broken out of a parked car. Currently, there are no leads or suspects.
On April 21st, a vehicle was stolen from the 6600 block of Jackson Road. The suspect was identified, and criminal charges were authorized. The vehicle was recovered.
On April 26th, a trailer full of inventory from a local business was stolen from the Quality 16 lot where it was being stored. The value of the property stolen was approximately $30,000. This incident is still under investigation.
