Scotty Karate Brings his Rock ‘n’ Roll Swagger and Uniquely Crafted Songs Back to Chelsea

By Melissa Marcum

Scotty Karate, a Chelsea High School graduate and native, recently returned to Ugly Dog on Saturday, June 29, to perform to an enthusiastic crowd.

He is known for his legendary alt-country style and punk attitude; he mesmerized the audience with his rock ‘n’ roll swagger and uniquely crafted songs. Scotty Karate is a versatile artist, handling tunes, vocals, guitars, mandolin, lap steel, baritone guitar, and percussion all on his own. He is truly a one-man band and fun to watch.

His songs like, “California” and “Play with Fire” had revelers smiling and enjoying their evening.
